Seasons Changing…

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

The vernal season is here! Along with its weather and scenery comes a new bustle of activity.  This is especially true for Fonticello Park. But let’s not be fooled.

After a couple of false starts, we can really enjoy a proper spring.

The Next general meeting will be on Tuesday, Mar 17 · 17:30–18:30.

Park Improvements

Recreation Building and Splashpad

As of this writing, construction has NOT started on the recreation building or the splash pad in the park. We will get more updates at the next general meeting. See below for meeting details.

Community Events

Earth Day and Global Volunteer Month | April

The Office of Neighborhood Engagement is currently planning service opportunities to celebrate Earth Day and Global Volunteer Month, and we would love to partner with your civic association to host a community cleanup.

  • Day of Service will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM

  • More details will be announced as they arrive.

We have successfully partnered with civic associations on similar efforts in the past, and your organization immediately came to mind as we began planning Earth Day activities. We truly value the opportunity to attend your meetings and stay connected with neighborhood priorities, and this feels like a wonderful way to further engage with neighbors while supporting beautification efforts together.

Host for Tiny Porch Concerts

All applications for the 2026 season need to be submitted by March 15. The Planning Team will begin reviewing applications on March 16, and monthly host clusters will be announced in April.

Community Input Needed!

The City recently hosted the second community meeting for the Semmes Cowardin Hull (SCH) Neighborhood Node Plan. At this Visioning Workshop, participants came together to discuss the vision for the future of the neighborhood, identify next steps in helping to achieve that vision, and provide further insight and feedback on topics mentioned in Resolution 2025-R007.

More feedback is needed!

If you were unable to attend the Visioning Workshop this past Thursday and would like to provide your insight and feedback, please complete our online survey by clicking the link in this email or by accessing it from the Plan website. This survey will remain open through Sunday, March 22.
