TSHIRT CONTEST FOR 100 YEARs
May 2024 is the centennial anniversary of Fonticello Park! Carter Jones authored the resolution to take over the Fonticello Springs property from the Taylor estate and make it a park, stating, ” “There is no greater need in the city. The children of this section are entirely without room for legitimate outdoor play. The vacant lots that they might have used, with or without permission last year, now are taken by buildings.” The resolution was approved by City Council May 16, 1924.
DESIGN CONTEST
Please submit all shirt designs by May 15th at 5pm. A Google Form will be shared with park users on May 16th to vote on their favorite shirt design. The creator/designer of the winning design will receive a FREE Friends of Fonticello Park 2024 shirt with their design on the front (size of their choice). Additionally, their design, name and links to their business/website/Instagram will be posted to our website, socials and via newsletters.
All other shirt designs will be special releases throughout the year to celebrate the centennial and available for purchase as a fundraiser for FOFP. All designers will receive a free shirt with their design (or another design if they choose) in the size of their choice.
The winning design will be printed on t-shirts at the end of the membership drive as a free gift for anyone who becomes a member with a donation of at least $50. Shirts will also be available for purchase for anyone interested.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
All designs must meet the following specifications in order to be clearly printed:
- Make your design in only one color (all shirts will be printed in one color)
- Your one color design should have solid lines or bitmapping (only if it contains a photo image)
- At least 300 DPI for resolution (we can help with this, most high resolution jpgs already meet this minimum!)
- Images will be printed on the front of t-shirts (ensure that design will look good across the middle of a t-shirt)
- Ensure that you’re not plagiarizing anyone else’s design – be creative!!!
CONTEST TIMELINE
- Until May 15th: Park users and supporters submit designs for the 2024 T-Shirt Design
- May 16 – May 23: Voting by park users and supporters!
- May 1 – May 30: Membership drive! Memberships are available starting at $15, but complementary reservations are also available to anyone for whom paying for a membership presents a barrier (no proof required, just sign up!)
- June: Membership shirts will be printed.
- July: Shirts can be picked up at our monthly member meeting!
