Native Meadow WORKDAY

Our next Native Meadow Workday is June 23!

If you haven’t been by the park lately, go check it out! The native meadow is really growing up! Last time we walked by, the common yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and Lyre-leaf Sage (Salvia lyrata) are still blooming. Also, the blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum) is actually starting to bloom a wee bit early, as it usually doesn’t start to flower until later in July.

There is a lot of boneset and goldenrod in the meadow as well, and those will really start to burst later in the summer.

It’s so fun to walk by and see what’s blooming, what’s getting tall, and knowing the very next time we walk by, it will all be completely different.

With all the said, we could really use your help to maintain the meadow. It needs some heavy weeding and re-mulching. We will also (finally, hopefully) be installing the beautiful live edge wooden bench we purchased. Please RSVP using the button below!

Have you seen the awesome new signage that we installed in the park, with the helps of Parks? Walk by and check it out. It shares a lot of information about the benefits of native plants and the pollinators that love them!
